Get into the Argentine spirit and spend an evening watching
a tango show, take part in tango classes or watching locals perform impromptu
on the streets. Take a city tour of Buenos Aires, strolling through the
colourful La Boca neighbourhood, the Plaza de Mayo or ‘main square’ and the
Recoleta Cemetery, resting place of former Argentine First Lady, Eva Peron.
Visit a traditional gaucho ranch testing your equestrian skills, travel to
Ushuaia the southernmost city in the world (and the starting point for cruises
to Antarctica) or ski, hike and try out water sports in Bariloche.
The number one attraction on your Argentine ‘bucket list’ should
be the impressive Iguazu Falls. Straddling the borders of Argentina andBrazil,
travellers can visit the falls from both sides. Cool things down in El
Calafate, getting up close to the Perito Moreno and Upsala Glaciers. Spend time
in the Peninsula Valdes, a UNESCO World Heritage Centre due to its conservation
of marine mammals including southern right whales, sea lions and elephant
seals. Or get cultural in Córdoba, visiting the city’s galleries and museums
and taking in the independent film scene.
